ASCII File structure

Hi Watka,

The first field in the record is 6 characters long, the second field is 12 characters long, and this is a comma separated value (CSV) format thus:

020401,-------160.3, ...

the hyphens in the second field indicate leading spaces, and the ellipse after the second comma, indicates more fields.

Using sequential access, I can read the entire record into a string variable just fine. But, I need to reliably navigate through the file, thus wish to use Random access.

Your help is appreciated, Lee
